CLARA MAE WADDELL DAVIS

Funeral services for Clara Mae Waddell Davis, 84, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 
10:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2014, in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Rev. R.C. Smith officiating.

Clara was born on December 23, 1929, in Cabot, AR, and passed away on July 4, 
2014 in Monroe, LA.

She was raised and educated in Little Rock, Arkansas where she met and married 
Ennis Gaston Davis. Together they moved to Monroe, LA, in 1957 to manage several 
Holiday Inn restaurants located in south. After Mr. Davis's death in 1974, Mrs. 
Davis continued to operate the Holiday Inn Grill on Louisville Ave. in Monroe. 
She was an active member of the Quota Club for many years as well as the LA 
Restaurant Association. Many people will remember her wonderful cooking and 
famous pies. After retirement you could find Clara in the mornings at McDonald's 
on 18th street having coffee and talking with her cohorts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Mae and W. Vester Waddell; and 
her husband, Ennis Gaston Davis.

She is survived by her son, Joe Vester Davis, and wife Debbie, Monroe, LA; 
grandson, Bradley Ennis Davis, and wife Rachael, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 
grandson, Bradley Walter Davis; and her brother, Ben Waddell and wife Nell, 
Little Rock, AR.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Monday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Oaks Nursing Home for their care 
and consideration.

Because of her love for her own animals, memorials may be made to PAWS of 
Northeast LA or a
charity of your choice
