Sue's devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her throughout her life and ultimately gave her peace. Sue's fight for life began prematurely on November 19, 1948 as a 3 pound baby, given little hope for life. She was born at home in Haile, Louisiana, with the help of Mama Lula Bell. Sue continued her life as a devoted member of Haile Baptist Church, which was the same church as generations before her did. Sue made many life long friends through her work at Century Tel, in Marion. Through her family's love for barrel racing, the friends she made there she considered to be family. On December 5, 1970, Sue married Johnny Ray Davis. Johnny and Sue had 3 children, Heath, Lance and Mandi. After the unexpected loss of Johnny, Sue was a most devoted mother to their children. She later welcomed Heath's wife Michelle, and Mandi's husband David Black into her family as her own. Her love and support to family continued through the arrival of 7 grandchildren; Gage, Hayden, Parker, Khloe, Luke, Garrison and Paige. "Sue Sue" loved her children and grandchildren more than life itself. She believed taking care of her family was God's purpose for her life. Welcoming her into Heaven was her husband, Johnny Davis, parents Jake and Marie Parker, as well as her grandparents. Left to cherish her memory are her children, grandchildren, sisters Jamie Russell, Sandy Gardner, Sherry McWiggins, and her most beloved birthday gift, her brother Hal, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Honoring as pallbearers are Lanny Parker, Virgil Brantley, JD Hixon, Gary Harrell, Scotty Aulds, Charles Gardner, Peyton McKinnie, and Caleb McWiggins. Honorary pallbearers are Parker Haile, Willie Haile, Stan Parker and Marvin McKinnie. Visitation will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 4:00-7:00PM.
