MARY GERTRUDE (GERTIE) PRUDHOMME DEEN

Centuries Memorial Funeral Home

Shreveport, LA

Gertie Deen was born Sept. 26, 1902, in LaChute, LA (So. Caddo Parish). She 
was the daughter of Dezala Aleck Prudhomme and Mary Julia LeGrand Prudhomme.

Gertie died Friday, November 7, 2008, (age 106) at Live Oak Retirement Center 
where she had lived since 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.O. 
Deen, who was with United Gas Pipeline Co. for 34 years. They were married in 
1923 in Shreveport, LA.

She is survived by her son Jerry and his wife, Katie of Shreveport. Her 
grandchildren are Katherine Way and husband, Bradford of Jacksonville, FL and 
Karla Deen of Shreveport.

Funeral services will be at The Mulhearn Monroe Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel 
on Hwy. 80 East in Monroe, LA, Monday, November 10th at 2:30 P.M. Visitation 
will be one hour prior the service. The service will be conducted by Chaplain 
Mickey Cowen of Live Oak Retirement Center and Rev. Dianne Brown, pastor of 
Broadmoor Presbyterian Church.

The family would like to thank everyone at Live Oak Retirement Center for the 
wonderful loving care they gave Gertie during her years there.

Shreveport, LA 71105 or to the donor's choice.
