CHARLES EVERETT DENHAM

Mr. Charles "Chuck" Everett Denham died Sunday, February 10, 2013, following a 
brief illness he was 81. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday 
February 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Craig West and Dr. Alan Miller 
officiating. Burial will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on July 19, 1931 and graduated from Ada High 
School. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern 
Arkansas, Magnolia, his Master's Degree and post-graduate work at Northeast 
Louisiana University, now ULM, Monroe, LA.

Mr. Denham served 2 years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. 
Following his navy service he devoted his career to secondary education, 
serving as teacher, coach, and principal at Louisiana Training Institute in 
Monroe, with the tenure of 35 years.

After retiring from LTI he served in numerous capacities at First Baptist 
Church, Monroe, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Department Director, Singles 
Group Leader, and was the Maintenance Supervisor for over 19 ½ years retiring 
in December 2012. At the time of his death he was secretary of the Truth 
Seekers Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Clarence Denham and Mrs. Thelma 
Alice Denham Farley, and by a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence 
Denham.

Mr. Denham is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virgie Waters Denham of Monroe, 
LA; and a son, Mark Erin Denham of Baton Rouge, LA; and by nieces and nephews 
and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral 
Home.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy James, Brad Johnson, Pete Smith, Terry Slawson, Ben 
Bradford, and John McCoy. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of First 
Baptist Church in Monroe.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 St. John Street, Monroe, LA 
71201.
