GORDIE W. DIFFEY

Jonesboro, LA

Mr. Gordie W. Diffey, age 88 of Eros, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 
Glenwood Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Diffey was a 
retired truck driver with the Louisiana State Highway Department after serving 
for 31 years.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the 
Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Billie Bostic and Brother Edward 
Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Eros Cemetery in Eros under the 
direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Mr. Diffey is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alma Ruth (Fuller) Diffey; 
sisters, Elva McCurry and Clara Blanton both of West Monroe; daughter-in-law, 
Betty Diffey of Eros; grandchildren, Tammy Johnson and husband Carlos of 
Ruston, Paul Diffey and wife Laurie of Chatham, Eric Diffey and wife Sarah of 
Chatham, Randy Diffey of West Monroe and Amy Diffey of Eros; great-
grandchildren, Lacie Johnson, C. J. Johnson, Summer Diffey, Amarail Diffey, 
Jacob Salsbury, Lane Diffey, Maryann Hartness and Darren Coughran; a host of 
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by sons Wilfred Earl Diffey and Roger Dale Diffey.

Pallbearers will be Brian Myers, Chad Myers, Steven Myers, Michael Pool, 
Stanley Gryder and George Gryder.

Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Normand and Denver Bailey.
