DAVID LEON DOLES

Comer Funeral Home Ferriday, LA

David Leon Doles age 89 of Ferriday, LA passed away on Tuesday October 28, 
2008 at his residence.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Comer Funeral 
Home Chapel; Ferriday, LA with Rev. John Williams officiating. Interment will 
follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Bastrop, LA Visitation is 5:00 PM until 7:00 
PM Friday in the funeral home.

Mr. Doles was born on August 29, 1922 in Jones, LA, to Parents Willis F. and 
Seabelle B. Doles, he was a retired farmer. He attended Clayton Baptist 
Church; Clayton, LA.

Mr. Doles had been a long time resident of Ferriday and a member of the 
Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton. He was a 1943 graduate of Louisiana State 
University. Mr. Doles served in the U. S. army during World War II in the 
Pacific Theater. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Dole was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, W. F. Doles, Jr. and 
two sisters: Carmen D. Grandstaff and Fannie D. Lea.

Survivors include his wife: Carolyn G. Doles of Ferriday, LA; 2 daughters: 
Jeanette D. Webb and husband, Jesse, of Kisatchie, LA and Diane Doles of 
Ferriday, LA; 2 sisters: Mildred Lupo of Mandeville, LA and Peggy Drude of 
Baytown, T; 1 Grandchild: Austin David Burr.

Pallbearers are John Lupo, Charles Lupo, Raymond Lea, Michael Jordan, Jerry 
Doles, George Drude, Sean Milliken, and John Rife.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dave Doles, Jack Doles, Jesse Webb, Claude Current, 
and Jerry Green.
