Mark Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Doughtie was born November 18, 1925 and passed away July 2, 2014, in Kingwood, Texas after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Doughtie; daughter, Mollie Laws; and two sisters, Lousie Sale and Bernice Bowden. Mrs. Doughtie worked for Federal Compress Warehouse in Monroe for many years and was a member of College Place Baptist Church for over 35 years. Survivors include son, Billy Doughtie and wife Rebecca; son-in-law, Joe Laws; grandchildren, Brian Laws, and Bailey and Bella Doughtie; special niece, Mitsy Garrison and husband Wray; nephew, Bob Sale and wife Sandy; and cousin, Millicent Stafford. Pallbearers will be Bob Sale, Rob Sale, George Doughtie, Patrick Dalton, Joe Laws and Brian Laws. Visitation will be 10 AM until time of service Monday at the Mausoleum. Elsie will be remembered for her southern charm, sweet smile, positive attitude and her love of family and travel. Memorials may be made to Jackson's Hope, 1510 Tim Street, West Monroe, LA, 71292.
