DOUGLAS Funeral services for Mr. William S. Douglas, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Ron Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum, under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Douglas died Friday, February 14, 2014 at St. Francis Specialty Hospital. He was a former member of the Lions Club, a Union Member, and also taught Sunday School. Mrs. Douglas served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by parents, John and Maude Case Douglas; and brothers and sisters, Marshall Douglas, Jim Douglas, Jack Douglas, Hosea "Happy" Douglas, Clotilde Wink, Etta Mae Tillman, Maude Young, and Navy Gay Hendrix. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Louise Averett Douglas; sons, William Clifton Douglas and Timothy Alexander Douglas; daughter, Marilyn Kay Douglas Varner; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the Mausoleum Chapel.
