He was born on January 1, 1931 in McGehee, AR to his parents, William Clifton and Virgie Mae Fergerson Douglass. Mr. Douglass was an Army veteran having served in the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. He was employed by Allied Telephone Company for over 20 years. In 1974, he surrendered to the ministry and dedicated the rest of his life to serving the Lord. During this time, he served as pastor for Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in Crossett, AR and West Heights Missionary Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. He was an active member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Waymon Douglass. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patricia Farmer Douglass of Crossett; one son, Thad A. Douglass Jr. (Terri) of Crossett; two daughters, Debra McClain (John) of Grenada, MS and Deanna Powers (David) of Lake Village, AR; one sister, Charlotte Ann Douglass Wigley of Hamburg, AR; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. David Powers, Bro. Clayton Hales, Bro. Don Justice, Bro. Steve Franklin and Bro. Danny Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR. (www.jonesservice.com) Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday at West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Cliff Douglass, Bruce Douglass, Eric Wall, Tony Wall, Casey McClain, Jonathon Gates, Jonathan Powers and Kenneth McGilton. ALL Ordained Ministers in attendance are ask to serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
