BILLIE CHARLES JR. DOWNEY

Memorial services for Mr. Billie Charles Downey, Jr. of West Monroe will be 
3:00pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West 
Monroe with Johnny Pace officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 
time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Downey was born October 18, 1950 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life 
on July 2, 2017 in Monroe, LA at the age of 66. He served his country in the 
United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War and was retired 
with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. He was a longtime member of 
McGuire Methodist Church, he was an avid turkey and deer hunter and he loved 
spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billie Downey, Sr. and Peggy Gilbert 
Downey, and his father-in-law, Lester Roberts.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Roberts Downey; two sons, Darby Roberts 
Downey and wife Whitney, and William McCaa Downey all of West Monroe; three 
grandchildren, Caiden Roberts Downey, Lilly Marie Downey and Slade Charles 
Downey, all of West Monroe; three sisters, Judy Breard and husband Danny of 
Monroe, Sally Cagle and husband Todd of West Monroe, and Jenny Hood and 
husband J.R. of Farmerville; mother-in-law, Margaret McCaa Roberts of 
Wisner; one sister-in-law, Susan Haring and husband John of Wisner; also 
survived by a host of extended family and friends.
