JOSEPH HAYES DOWNING 

Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA 

Funeral Services for Mr. Joseph Hayes Downing, 76, of West Monroe, LA will be 
held at 2:30 PM Monday December 17, 2007 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral 
Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Frank Eppinette, Rev. Mike Reynolds, and Jack 
Ponder officiating. Interment will follow in the Aulds Chapel Bible Church 
Cemetery. Mr. Downing was born on May 18, 1931 and passed away on December 15, 
2007. He was a member of the Aulds Chapel Bible Church, where he served as an 
Elder, Sunday School Teacher and youth Teacher. Mr. Downing retired from the 
Dr. Pepper Company. He served in the United States Army with the 10th Mountain 
Division. Mr. Downing was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Airline 
Personnel. He served on the Board of Directors for the Christian Prison 
Outreach, Reaching Americas Youth, was involved with the Campus Crusade for 
Christ in many prisons and served with Bill Glass Ministries. Survivors 
include his niece, Beverly Bowling; nephew, Ronnie Downing and wife Jan; 
sister-in-law, Jean Downing; and his great nieces and nephews, Trey Bowling, 
Brad Bowling and wife Tori, Clinton Downing, Kristina Peters and husband 
Jared, Sarah Whatley and husband Ricky. Pallbearers will be Trey Bowling, Brad 
Bowling, Jared Peters, Justin Underwood, Daniel Reynolds and John Thomas. 
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Ezell, Jack Ponder, Ricky Thomas, Gary 
Colvin and Paul Ezell. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until Service Time 
Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
