John H. Wilkins and Rev. Larry Foster officiating. Interment will be in Legion Memorial Cemetery, Newellton, LA, under the direction of Crothers- Glenwood Funeral Home. Mrs. Doyle was born on February 18, 1929 in Lubbock, TX and died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her home on Cypress Grove Plantation, Newellton, LA, surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Doyle was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Lee and Sadie Barrett, her husband of 63 years, James F. Doyle, and her brother, Delbert Barrett. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Hage of Lake Bruin, LA, a granddaughter, Susan Hosea and her husband Paul of Newellton, LA, and her special great-grandsons, Christian James Hosea and Levi Nicholas Hosea; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Louie and Jimmie Ruth Doyle of Newellton, LA, and Ronnie and Carolyn Doyle of Jackson, MS, and three sisters- in-law, Betty Sue Pilkinton of Bossier City, LA, Peggy and Roger Waddill of St. Francisville, LA, Betty Doyle of Jonesville, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Doyle was a superb homemaker who dearly loved to entertain family and friends. They will truly miss her delicious food and hospitality. She was an excellent caregiver for her daughter, who had numerous surgeries, as well as other family members. For her daughter, nieces, and others, she was a true Christian role model. She nurtured them with love and showed them the right way to live. She was a member of the Newellton Union Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for nearly fifty years. An active member of the Ladies Auxiliary, she worked hard to help make their annual bazaar successful. Also, she regularly attended bible study and other church activities. Pallbearers will be nephews: Ken Anderson, David Doyle, Kenny Doyle, Steve Doyle, Mike Norris, Tommy Pilkinton, Dr. James Waddill and Randy Waddill. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until service time on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newellton Union Church, P.O. Box 265, Newellton, LA 71357.
