JOHN P. DUKE

Funeral services for Mr. John P. Duke, age 80, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., 
Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jim 
Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Golden 
Funeral Home.

Mr. Duke, a resident of Monroe, passed away from heart failure on Sunday, 
September 30, 2012. He was a retired contractor. Mr. Duke was a member of 
First Baptist Church of West Monroe and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Margaret Duke; four 
brothers, Cecil Duke, Robert Duke, Bilbo Duke, Dickie Duke; and two sisters, 
Sissy Duke and Maxine Duke.

Mr. Duke is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patsy R. Duke; two sons, John 
Gregory Duke of Monroe, LA, Michael A. Duke and wife Juanita of Ruston, LA; 
daughter, Diana Duke Allen and husband Daryl of Birmingham, AL; sister, Tanny 
Gentry of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren, Jacob Ivan Duke, Ryan Michael Duke, 
Sarah E. Allen, and Abby Marguerite Allen.
