Steve Wilkins officiating. Dorothy was born on August 2, 1931 in Calhoun, LA. She was a longtime member of Calhoun First Baptist Church and Hope Sunday School. Mrs. Dupree passed away peaceably at home on October 12, 2016, in Monroe, LA at age 85. Dorothy was a loving and caring mother and faithful wife to Charles Dupree who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father, James Vestal Purdy, mother Vera Russell, brother Jimmy Purdy, and sister Teresa Bush. Dorothy is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jim Turner of Monroe, LA; Becky and Bruce Hodge of DeRidder, LA; Julie and Bobby Malatia of Waxahachie, TX; and son, Ed Farr and special friend Susana Miller of Morrilton, AR. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren, and a very special aunt, Marie Medak. Special thanks to United Home Health; Hospice Compassus, especially Vickie and Daphne; and Hope Sunday School for their help and support through Dorothy's homebound years. The family would also like to express gratitude to Debra Kaye Criss and Stephanie Fields for their compassionate care of Mom. Thanks to Jarod, Sean and John at Auburn Avenue Presbyterian Church for the live broadcast of the service so she could join in the worship and hear God's Word proclaimed on the Lord's Day.
