A grave side service will be held at 3:30 P.M. at Good Hope Cemetery, Good Hope, MS with Rev. Brad Moak presiding. Mrs. Easterling was born January 23, 1920 in Hayes, MS. She passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 at Landmark Nursing Home, West Monroe, LA. Singing was a big part of her life. She was part of a gospel quartet, led the choir at times at Good Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed going to gospel singings with her friends. Later, Mrs. Easterling became a member of Trinity Baptist Church of West Monroe. She enjoyed sewing and quilting with her sisters. She was a wonderful cook and nothing pleased her more than preparing meals for her children and grandchildren in her home. In her earlier years, she played High School basketball but was a fan of all sports. Her favorite pastime over the past few years was listening to her West Monroe Rebels on the radio. She was known throughout her life for her wonderful sense of humor and fun loving spirit. Even after the disease of Alzheimer's took over her mind the staff and residents at Landmark enjoyed seeing her doing a dance with her walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Easterling, son, Jerry R. Easterling, son in law, Leon Billings, two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her sons, Charles Easterling and wife Nita of Alexandria, LA, Mack Easterling of West Monroe, LA, Mickey Easterling and wife Ann of West Monroe, LA, and Gary Easterling and wife Becky of Brandon, MS, Daughters, Liz Billings of West Monroe, LA, Henrietta Futch and husband Gary of Monroe, LA, and Debbie Kimbro & husband Bob of Gretna, LA, 11 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great, Great, Grandchild, Sisters, Judy Bennett of West Monroe, LA, and Chloe Mann of Salem, OR, Sister in laws, Darine Rogers of West Monroe, LA and Jo Howard of Lena, MS and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Landmark Nursing Home for the love and care they gave to her for the last two and a half years. Also, we would like to thank Premier Hospice Care that took such special care of her and especially her nurse, Brandy. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Billings, Keith Billings, Greg Futch, Kevin Futch, Ricky Easterling, Wade Kimbro, and Drew Kimbro.
