Jim was born on October 10, 1932 to Homer and Eva Eatmon in Palestine, Texas. He later moved to Monroe, Louisiana where he met and married the love of his life, Janice Eatmon, on June 3, 1955. After graduating from North East Louisiana State College and proudly serving in the Army Reserve from 1952-1956, he and Janice moved to Haughton, Louisiana where he became the proud father of two boys, Devin and Nick. In 1982, Jim and Jan moved to San Angelo, Texas where he worked in the oil industry and later as a real estate agent. Some of his favorite things were theatre, classical music and the arts. His hobbies included rock hunting, participating with Boy Scouts allowing him time to spend with his sons. He loved dark chocolate and ice cream and traveling with his family to see new and historic places. Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Homer and Eva Eatmon, Wife and love of his life Janice Eatmon and his siblings. Jim is survived by his eldest son Devin Eatmon of Cedar Park, Texas, and his younger son Nick Eatmon and wife Misty, of San Angelo, Texas, their son Devin Stewart of Junction, Texas, and one niece Debra Mock of West Monroe, Louisiana. As well as various family members across the United States. Jim's sense of humor and the kindness he showed toward others will be missed by all that encountered him. Jim would cut comic strips from the newspaper to hand to someone he came across to brighten their day. He truly cared about others and knew how to make someone's day. He was always willing to help others in need. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Kindred Hospice and Brookdale Senior Living Solutions for the loving care and concern they showed. The family would like to thank Dayna with Encompass Home Health for the special care and attention she provided for Jim. Thank you to all the staff at Encompass you made a difference in his life. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Johnson's Funeral Chapel in San Angelo. Burial will be at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim Eatmon's name to Meals for the Elderly or to your favorite charity .
