ELLIS Frank Louis Ellis, Sr. was born August 19, 1939 to Henry and Lorraine Ellis in Lafayette, Louisiana. Mr. Ellis departed this life on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the age of 76 at Gulf Health Care, in Port Arthur, Texas, where he had resided for the past two years. Mr. Ellis served in the Army National Guard Reserves for 6 years and one year of active duty at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He worked many years for Louisiana Machinery in Monroe, Louisiana and later for Linbeck Construction in Monroe. Mr. Ellis was a mechanic by trade and spent much of his time in his shop working on heavy equipment. He also enjoyed working with his cows on his farm and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris; 2 sons Frank Louis Ellis, Jr. and wife Susan of West Monroe, La. and Gary Edward Ellis of Nederland, Texas; 3 daughters: Rose Ellis Goebel and husband Tim of Nederland, Texas, Tammy Ellis Bankson and husband Gary of Rosepine, La., Teresa Ellis Richard and husband Roger of Sulphur, La., 10 grandchildren: Stephanie Ellis Barmore, Louis Wayne Ellis, Christopher Bankson, Ashley Ellis Meeks, Tori Goebel Shuler, Brittany Bankson Dailey, Ryan Goebel, Logan Richard, Cora Goebel and Lauren Richard and 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Henry Lee Ellis, Jr, Joel Ellis and Jessie Ellis of Krotz Springs, La.; 2 sisters: Vitula Dupree and Gloria Bihm both of Krotz Springs, La. Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lorraine Ellis of Krotz Springs, La. and his brother, J. B. Ellis of Baton Rouge, La. Visitation will be from 11 AM-2:00 PM with the service starting at 2:00 PM both at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. The Rev. Gary Bankson and Rev. Randy Hammer will be officiating.
