CHEROKEE MAE "CHERRY" JOHNSON ERWIN

Cherry passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia, MO, on the morning of 
September 16, 2014. Cherry was born in Chattanooga, TN, on March 31, 1948. 
She attended Girls Preparatory School of Chattanooga, TN, The University of 
Tennessee at Knoxville, and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She 
worked at the Orange Grove Center for the Mentally Disabled in Chattanooga. 
With her husband, Joe, she moved to Monroe, LA, where she raised her family, 
owned the Bunny Patch Day Care and The Linen Closet, and was a member of 
Grace Episcopal Church.

Cherry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded 
in death by her parents John W. Johnson and Nancy Pierce Johnson.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband William Joseph 
"Joe" Erwin, Jr.; children Cherokee Avery Erwin Bednarz of Lafayette, LA, 
Nancy Erwin (Matt) Smith of Columbia, MO, and William Joseph (Lauren) Erwin, 
III, of Monroe, LA; grandchildren Erin Bednarz, Lindsay Smith, Landon Smith, 
Pierce Smith, and Reagan Erwin; and brothers John W. (Susan) Johnson, III, 
of Chattanooga, Joseph M. (Susan) Johnson of Chattanooga, and William H. 
(Beckie) Johnson of Chattanooga.

A celebration of the life of Cherry Erwin will be held on Friday, September 
19, 2014, at 10:30 AM at Grace Episcopal Church of Monroe, LA. Immediately 
following the ceremony, the family will receive friends for a wake at the 
home of Will and Lauren Erwin.
