JR. ETHRIDGE Funeral services for Richard Evans "Dick" Ethridge, Jr. will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA with Dr. Tim Neustifter officiating. Entombment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA LA Dick passed away on Saturday April 15, 2017. He was born July 28, 1942 Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte McMahon Ethridge and Richard Evans Ethridge, Sr.; his sister, Charlotte Ethridge, and his sister-in-law, Susan law, Susan Ethridge. Dick is survived by his wife, Pat, whom he adored for 50 years; son, Richard Evans Ethridge, III; daughters, Ainslee Ethridge Peters and husband, Benjamin and Sara Addie Ethridge Bagwell and husband, Curry; Grandchildren, Emma and Macy Ethridge, Alex, Evans and Sinclair Peters, and Christian and Addie Bagwell; brother, Bill Ethridge; and nephews, Stuart, Grant and Stephen Ethridge Dick moved to Monroe at age of 3, where he grew up, and graduated from Neville High S High School in 1960. After graduating from Northeast Louisiana University, where where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity, he joined his father and grandf grandfather in business at Monroe Hardware Company. In 1976, he founded Village Sports Sports, a favorite gathering spot for outdoorsmen near and far. When he retire retired, he joined John Rea Realty, and soon became a favorite there. Dick was a steadfast friend. Immensely loyal, he still kept in touch with frie friends he made since childhood. He enjoyed playing golf, taking his Hot Rod Car, Car, "Precious" to car shows, and being outdoors around the backyard grill with frie friends. He was often the "life of the party". His quick wit and sense of humor prov provided many hilarious stories that will always be precious memories to his fami family and friends. Dick's greatest joy was his family. Always available and supportive, he was at ev every ballgame and dance recital and loved family trips to the beach. His gr grandchildren adored their sweet "Papa." Pallbearers will be Tom King, Van Pardue, Allen Taylor, Tod Cagle, Dix Johnston, Hank Biedenharn, Jimmy Stevenson, and Joe Farr Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Glasgow, J. J. Campau, Rodney Denton, Don McElroy, John Rea, Terry Bourgeois, Barrie Tanguis, Mike Harvey, John Robinson, Wyman Mardis, Taylor Heard, Ed Hodgens, C. A. Lowe, Jay Crampton, Jim Payne, Jimmy Woods, Morris Funderburg, Thomas Eddleman, Scott Lawrence, Herb Jeane, Be Ben Peters Sr. and Ken Johnson. Visitation will be from 4:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Home in Monroe, LA Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Paul's Un United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA.
