Riser Funeral Home

Columbia, LA

Services for John Evans, Sr. age 70 of Grayson will be 2 PM Monday, December 
8, 2008, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Kelly 
Wayne Clark and Rev. Dennis Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Lone 
Cherry Cemetery in Mangham.

Visitation will be Sunday evening at Riser Funeral Home from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.

John Wesley Evans, Sr. was born in Mangham on August 23, 1938 to the union of 
Louie and Mable Smith Evans and passed away on December 5, 2008 at Glenwood 
Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; W.A. Evans, 
Louie Evans, Jr. and Leonard Evans and his sister; Lula B. McCoy.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years; Norma Elliott Evans of Grayson, son; 
John Evans, Jr. and his wife, Shannon of Grayson, daughter; Kelly Bassett and 
her husband, Ricky of Grayson, brother; J.G. Evans of Monks Corner, SC, four 
sisters; Lola Mewborn of Swartz, Dianne Denison and her husband, Denny Ray of 
Grayson, Gloria D. Evans of West Monroe and Linda Evans of Monroe, six 
grandchildren; Heather Bassett, Holly Hatten and her husband, Kris, Hunter 
Bassett, Kursten Evans, Lyndsey Hicks and McKinleigh "Rae-Rae" Evans and a 
host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Evans, Jay Mewborn, Charles McKinley, Walter 
Stapleton, Hunter Bassett and Kris Hatten.
