Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe Services for Mr. Harvie Lee Evans Sr., 85, of West Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Harold Spillers officiating. Burial will be in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Evans passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Landmark Nursing Home, where he was a resident for over 3 years. Mr. Evans, retired as an inspector for Simmons (formally Selig's Furniture Manufactory), where he worked for over 33 years. His passions were working in his gardens and working on anything mechanical, fishing, hunting, and love of country music. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Evans, of which they were married for 60 years before Ruby's passing in May 2005. He was also preceded in death by his son, James M. Evans of Florida; his parents; Archie M. Evans and Bertha Brown Evans; 1 sister; Ellen Robertson, 2 bothers; William (Willie) Evans, Robert Evans. Survivors include his Children; Dianne Hodge and husband Jerry of Monroe, Harvie (Buddy) Evans Jr. and wife Linda of West Monroe, Donald Evans and wife Sandy of West Monroe, Marie Evans Sheppert of West Monroe, Chester Evans and wife Kathy of Monroe, Doris Thomasie and husband Lawrence of West Monroe, Duncan Evans and wife Peggy of Monroe; 2 sisters; Eula Mae Nobles and husband Ray of Start, LA., Mrs. Bessie Lowery, of Monroe, LA.; 2 bothers; Ernest Evans and wife Ruby of TX., Melvin Evans and wife Marilyn of Monroe, LA; He is also survived by 25 Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Evans is also survived by his extended Family at Landmark Nursing Home and Hospice Care of Louisiana, Inc. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Allan Evans, Robbie Grisham Jr., Jake Lee, Timmy Evans, Ray Evans, Darren Hodge.
