A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, May 21, 2015 at Rayville United Methodist Church in Rayville with the Reverend Newton "Bo" Horne, Jr., Reverend William Wade Fowler, Jr., and Reverend Darryl Tate officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved daddy at Red Wing Cemetery in the Goodwill Community. Born May 30, 1945 to Francis Penn Fowler and Marie Mayhall Fowler of Goodwill while her father was serving in the Marine Corps during World War II, she did not see him until she was two. She grew up on a farm surrounded by her extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Francine attended elementary school at Goodwill Elementary and graduated from Forest High School in 1963, where she was an outstanding basketball player. She attended college at NLSC and was employed for many years with Drs. Lester W. Johnson and Kenny Sehon in Rayville. She obtained a degree in Nursing from Louisiana Tech in 1999. She retired in 2011 after many years of being employed in the NICU Unit at Conway Hospital. After retiring she began her years of service to her church and community. She served on the Administrative Council and Mission Board of the Rayville United Methodist Church in Rayville and was an enthusiastic member of the Chancel Choir. She was a member of Lambda Kappa, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #122, Executive Board President of Rhymes Memorial Library, a member of Boeuf River Chapter NSDAR and the Salvation Army Christmas Project. She was an incredible wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Survived by her husband, George Kelly Evans of Rayville; mother, Marie Mayhall Fowler of Oak Grove; daughter, Alyson O'Neal Telano (Patrick) of Monroe; son, Carey Jason O'Neal of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Madalyn Cumpton and Peyton Cumpton of Rayville; Jack O'Neal, Julia O'Neal, and Kathryn O'Neal of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Carolyn Brown (Philip) of Lake Providence, Jeannie Ramsey (William) of Oak Grove, Kathy D. Fowler of Vancouver, WA, and Penny Randall (Billy) of Eudora, AR. Nephews, Max Turpin, Chris LeGuin, Brandon Johnson, Scott LeGuin, Luke LeGuin, and Mason Johnson. Nieces, Emily J. Custer (J.R.) and Gabriella Custer. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Jennifer Kennedy-Veldhiuzen of Rapid City, SD. Step children, Darrell Evans (Chrissy) Monroe and Kim Bennett (Mark) of West Monroe. Step grandchildren, Grant Evans and John David Bennett. Francine was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Roland Scott LeGuin. Serving as pallbearers are Chris LeGuin, Max Turpin, Brandon Johnson, Darrell Evans, Mark Bennett, Larry Lockeby, Larry Morris, and Edward Shoemaker. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Addison Thompson, Dr. David Thompson, Dr. Lester W. Johnson, Dr. Larry Barr, and Larry Millby. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the numerous doctors, nurses, care providers, and friends for their love and care of Francine.
