Justin is survived by his mother, Debbie N. Breard and her husband, Ernest; his father, Stewart Ewing and his wife, Hillary; his brother, Jason Ewing and his wife, Lyndsey, and their son, John Stewart; his sister, Sarah Katherine Ewing; his children, Baylee and Jaxon; his aunt and uncle, Vicki and John Navarre; his aunt and uncle, Rhonda and Barry Ewing; his girlfriend, Jennifer McDaniel; and a large number of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Jean and John Navarre, Martha and RS Ewing; and his aunt, Sandy Ferguson. Justin was born on May 6, 1979, in Shreveport, LA. He was known for his big heart and charm, and he was loved deeply by all who knew him. Justin overcame immense personal battles, which cultivated a deep desire within him to help others struggling with substance abuse. He was enrolled at University of Louisiana Monroe, pursuing a degree in psychology. Justin loved school and had earned a repeated spot on the dean's list. He and his business partner also had plans to open a rehabilitation center for alcohol and drug abuse in August 2017. Sadly, Justin was hospitalized with MRSA in June and succumbed to his illness just weeks later. His family and friends are devastated, but remember Justin as he lived his life with great zeal and affection for those he held dear. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Monroe, LA, on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm. A memorial will be held at 3:00 pm after the visitation at the church with a reception immediately following. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Justin's life. In lieu of flowers, Justin's family asks that donations be made to support scholarships at Camp Hardtner for campers who need financial assistance. Donations may be sent to St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 2816 Deborah Drive Monroe, LA 71201, with a memo directing funds to scholarship support in Justin Ewing's memory. Justin had so many wonderful memories from his summers spent at Camp Hardtner, and he would be thrilled to provide financial support to campers who otherwise might not have the means to attend.
