Friday, July 19th at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Falletta passed away Monday, July 15th at Avalon Place Nursing Home. Mrs. Falletta was preceded in death by her husband Sammy Falletta and brother Sam LaCara. She is survived by her children and their spouses Jan Falletta Rugg and Jackie Jones of Dallas, TX, Sammy and Margaret Thiels Falletta of San Marcos, TX, Mike and Mary Ann Falletta Woolsey of Ward, AR. Additionally she is survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mary was the oldest child of Sam and Florence LaCara. Of her siblings, she is survived by Annette Warlick and John LaCara, both of Monroe, and Joe LaCara of San Jose, CA. Serving as pallbearers will be James Canizaro, Tommy Canizaro, Jody Lofton, Mark Nix, Sal Petitto, Joe Thiels and Phillip Thomas. Mary Elizabeth was a 1949 Graduate of St. Francis Sanatorium Nursing School. She was a nursing professional until her retirement in 1993. In the early years of her career she worked at The Children's Clinic and for Dr. George Varino. For the remainder of her career she worked at St. Francis Hospital. She was most proud of the years she worked as Head Nurse of the Recovery Room. During this time she was a member of the American Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses and served as a Board Director from 1985 to 1987. Mary's personal creed was faith, family and friends. She loved to go to the "picture show", play cards and have a good time! She was an avid fan of Patrick Swayze and George Clooney. Mama/ Mamaw/Great-Grand will be deeply missed by her family. She was the rock we all leaned on and from whom we all sought advice. We celebrate her life! Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18th from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Wake services and rosary will begin at 6:00 P.M. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of The Avalon Nursing Home, Hospice Family Alliance, Senior Care Sitting Service and the Nurses and Staff of St. Francis Hospital.
