FARMER Mr. Hal W. Farmar of Chatham, LA, formerly of Monroe, LA, was born to his parents, George P. and Loma Grigg Farmar of Shelby, N.C., on October 7, 1924 and passed away on May 24, 2013. He was 88. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Farmar was survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Cox Farmar of Chatham, LA, one daughter, Kathy Kennedy and husband Robert of Shiner, TX, one son, Steve Farmar and wife Donna of Garland, TX, one step-son, Wayne Cox and wife Maureen of Chatham, LA, two grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Farmar of Garland, TX, six, step-grandchildren, Mickey Wood and wife Teresa of Harrison, AR, Rebecca Wood and husband Kennith of Chatham, LA, Brandi Risher and husband Curtis of Chatham, LA, Joanna Theriot and husband Jeremy of Chatham, LA, Danielle Ferris and husband Bennie of AL and Kelly Lynn Cox, also nine step-great- grandchildren. He is also survived by two nieces, Brenda Sanders and husband Ron of Pineville, LA, Barbara Heyl and husband Frank of Monroe, LA, special cousin, Mary Borders of Shelby, North Carolina and special friends, Debbie and Michael Smith of Conroe, TX. Mr. Farmar served in WWII as an Aerial Gunnery Instructor from Nov. 1943-June 1946 for B17's and B29's. He was owner of a Dodge Dealership and Foreign Imports with his brother, J.E. Farmar in Monroe, LA for many years. Services will be held under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
