Head and The Reverend Whit Stodghill officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 3:00 PM until time of service at Christ Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Linville, Louisiana under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Mike died September 7, 2015 after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 25, 1961 in Bastrop, Louisiana. He graduated from Bastrop High School and the Police Academy after which he entered the profession of law enforcement. Mike was employed as a law enforcement officer with the Morehouse Parish Sherriff's Department. He truly loved working in law enforcement and the friendships he made through the years. He also enjoyed hunting, working outdoors, and playing bingo. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Gertie Farrar and Doc and Julia Panquin. Survivors include his wife JoEllen McClendon Farrar and daughter, Leanna Farrar; parents, Boots and Nell Farrar; sister, Dewana Little and her husband Reese; sisters-in-law Terri Trichel and her husband Elee, Fran Ritchie and her husband Melvin; nieces Frannie Little, Leah Kyser, Maure Kyser; and nephew Rusty Little; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Deputies of the Morehouse Parish Sherriff's Department, James Mardis, Antonio German, Mike Smith, Rickey Perry, Odell Stone, and Gary Guice. In lieu of flowers, the family request any planned memorials be made in Mike's memory to the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Monroe, 5200 Northeast Road, Monroe, Louisiana 71203.
