Tuesday March 15, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. Jerry Whitman and Rev. Mark Friesen officiating. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop, LA. Mrs. Flanagan died March 11, 2016 at Savanah Grand Assisted Living in West Monroe, LA. Martha was a longtime member of North Monroe Baptist Church where she raised her children. After retirement, she moved to Lake D'Arbonne and joined the Holmesville Baptist Church. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University, where she was a proud member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She retired from the State of Louisiana with the Department of Social Services-Child Welfare. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles Eric Flanagan and her brother, Charles Phillip Moore. Survivors: her children, Rebecca Flanagan (Becki) Smith and husband, David of Plain Dealing, LA, Charles Michael (Mike) Flanagan of Richmond, TX and Mara Flanagan Friesen and husband, Mark of Austin, TX; Grandchildren, Christi McAnally and husband, Jason, Susan Smith and husband, Matt, Madison and Kristen Flanagan and Alyson Friesen; Great Grandsons, Dillon and Colin McAnally; Sister-in-law, Ann Flanagan Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason McAnally, Matt Smith, Bob Tom Riser, Jerry Wilson, Dickie Worthey, and Pete Woley. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA; Holmesville Baptist Church or the charity of your choice .
