Burial will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 18, 2009 at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane in Monroe, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Katie was born in Monroe on October 22, 1985 and died on August 15, 2009 after a lengthy illness. After 23 years of bringing joy and amazement to all who knew her, Katie Fluke has left us to be with the Lord. She was blessed with a love of music, a beautiful singing voice, and the ability to make friends with everyone she met. Katie's lifelong love of her church, her music, and her many friends and family are a testament to her character and strength of will in the face of many physical obstacles. A 2008 graduate of Neville High School, Katie was active in many facets of school life including choir and Tigerettes. She was a member of the Youth Group at First United Methodist in Monroe, the YoungTroupe, and was a faithful supporter of Sound Faith, a musical ensemble at FUMC Monroe. Katie is survived by her parents, Drew and Cathy Fluke; her sister, Brianne Adams, and husband Tommy; her brother, David; her grandparents Jack and Margaret Fluke, and Nancy Fluke, all of Monroe; and Ida Kate Aultman of Seminary, MS. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Daniel Aultman. Her family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Bonita Dyess and Dr. Terry King and their staffs, and to Family Care Services, for the many years of service and friendship. We also want to acknowledge three of Katie's very special friends: Tasha Collins, Olivia Blount, and Donald Ray Jackson. Pallbearers will be Hunt Neely, Oliver Myers, Andrew Credeur, Fred Hill, Tom Herman, Fred Fulton, Michael Gomila, and Walter LeDent. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Rowan, Ben F.
