MICHAEL (MIKE) JOSEPH FONTANA

Funeral services for Mr. Michael (Mike) Joseph Fontana, 99, of Monroe, LA will 
be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Jesus the Good Shepherd 
Catholic Church with MSGR Edmund Moore officiating. Interment will follow at 
Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Fontana passed away Monday, September 14, 2009. He was a retired Grocer of 
forty-one years. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. 
He was a member of the 3rd and 4th Knights of Columbus, the Progressive Men's 
Club, and the Columbus Social Club. He was a devoted father, grandfather, 
great grandfather, and an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy years, Frances Marie Scalia 
Fontana and daughter, Jo Marie F. Kindrix.

Survivors include his son, Julian Fontana and wife Deedra of Leland, MS; two 
daughters, Frances F. Sampognaro and husband Johnny of Monroe, LA and Deborah 
Fontana Scott and her husband Arvin of Gaston, NC; son-in-law, Gorden Kindrix 
of Monroe, LA; twenty-four grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kevin Kindrix, Gorden Kindrix, Michael 
Fontana, Danny Fontana, Michael Sampognaro, and John Sampognaro, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of the sixteen grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 15, 2009 with 
a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, 
Monroe.
