David McKeithen and Rev. G. E. Chance officiating. Interment will follow at Furlow Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. Fontenot began her life journey on August 1, 1935 and continued on her spiritual journey on Friday March 8, 2013 at LSU Health Sciences Medical Center Shreveport after an extended illness. She was a resident of Caldwell Parish, a member of Christian Life Church; retired with Sam's Wholesale Club and had worked for East Park Christian Academy. She enjoyed being outdoors and with nature. She had a passion for her faith and lived her life to the standards in which she believed; receiving many miracles throughout her lifetime. She was a gentle soul with a touch of compassion for everyone she encountered; and was loved by everyone that met her. She had such a giving heart, and an attitude of respect for people. Being a wife, mother and grandmother was her greatest achievements. She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Leon Fontenot Sr.; sisters Juanita Netherland and Shirley Herrington; brother Johnny Ray Bridges; grandchildren Crystal Louise Kelley Stephens and Samuel Allen Dean Stephens. Survivors include her children Linda Allbritton (Steve), Louise Stephens (Johnny), Tammy Thomas (Kenny), Cecil Fontenot Jr. (Susie); her sister Bobbie Futch also survived by several brothers, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, host of niece and nephews. Visitation for friends will be Sunday 5pm until 9pm at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
