Danny McIlveene officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery. Mr. Fortenberry was born on May 8, 1936 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away on April 2, 2009 in West Monroe, LA. He was affectionately known as "Toodlum" by his family. His greatest love was girl's softball. Mr. Fortenberry coached Dixie Youth softball for over 12 years. He was instrumental in getting the West Monroe High School Girls Softball Playing Field. Mr. Fortenberry was the statistician for West Monroe High School Girls Softball from 1985-1989. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Flora Fortenberry; and two daughters, Dixie Fortenberry and Robin Fortenberry Haley. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juanita Fortenberry; son, Roy Fortenberry; two daughters, Teresa Green and husband Ken, Tanya Alexander and husband Mark; five grandchildren, Malea Smith, Martin Green, Erica Green, Zachary Alexander, Ian Alexander; one great-grandson, J. D. McKnight; and a special cousin, Johnny Roy Lambert. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff, Rev. Ron Lowe, Glenda, Marilyn, and Betty of Southern Care Hospice; and also the sitter, Pat Hollis.
