FULLER Funeral services for James E. (Cotton) Fuller, age 97, of Dubach, La will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Dubach, La. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Barry Joyner and Rev. B. K. Miller. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Cotton was born in Dubach, La. on February 8, 1917 and passed away March 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Forrest Fuller, and is survived by his Children: Patricia "Tish" Smith of Shreveport, La; Vicki F. Colvin and husband Chris of Shreveport, La; Carolyn F. Smith and husband Kyle of Bossier City, La; James E. Fuller, Jr. and wife Jeanne of Shreveport, La; and William S Fuller and wife Georgia of Ruston, La; 12 grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren. Cotton was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Dubach, La. Except for the 4 years spent in service for his country, he lived the rest of his life in Dubach. He owned and operated Fuller Motor Company, managed several rental houses that were built on Fuller Hill to provide housing for workers of the Southwest Refinery in Dubach, and served as Chairman of the Board of The Farmerville Bank/First United Bank before it was purchased by Community Trust Bank. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater in the 30th Infantry (Old Hickory). Cotton loved having his family with him. He loved Dubach and supported the activities of this community. He enjoyed fishing and had many stories to tell about the fishing trips he took to south La with his Uncle Otis Fuller and other fishing buddies. Pallbearers will be Brad Colvin, Jimmy Dotson, Josh Fuller, Milt May, Travis Moss, Jerry Rogers, John Lane Sheehan, and Roland Sheehan. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, La. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Dubach or the charity of donor's choice. The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses that oversaw his health care, the Haven Home Health Care nurses who cared for his wounds, the sitters (most recently Sonya Scruggs, Steve Bob, Mary Phillips and Janis Powell) that saw to his daily and nightly care needs and Jerry Rogers who checked in on him each day.
