Gaiennie passed away at his home on January 8, 2013, at the age of 91. J. B. was born in Shreveport, La. He graduated from St. John's High School and Centenary College. He was commissioned as an Ensign in the U. S. Navy in 1941 where he served as a Naval Aviator. J. B. and his family moved to Monroe, La. in 1959 where he worked at Van -Trow Oldsmobile, until moving to Memphis in 1970. He became the owner of Regal Oldsmobile until his retirement in 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sally Mullin Gaiennie, his mother Marie Silvers Gaiennie and father Kenneth Meeker Gaiennie both of Shreveport, and brothers William, Kenneth and Gene Gaiennie. Also his grandsons, Shelton Smith and Patrick Smith of Memphis. He is survived by his three children, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gaiennie, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Gaiennie, and Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Smith, nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Dr., Memphis Tn., 38119. Visitation beginning at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the church.
