ALICE THIGPEN GIBSON

Funeral services for Alice Thigpen Gibson, 80, of Rayville, LA will be held at 
2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Archibald, LA 
with Rev. Dwayne Achord and Rev. John Cleveland officiating. Interment will 
follow in the Gwin Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley 
Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Alice was born September 28, 1935 in Baskin, LA and passed away Sunday, 
May 8, 2016 in Rayville, LA after a lengthy illness. 

Mrs. Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archibald since 1953. 
She was a Sunday school secretary for 25 years, Sunday school teacher, and 
member of the D.MA. She was an avid sports fan especially of the Mangham High 
School Dragons, and an Avon representative.

Mrs. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Gibson, Sr.; son, Lee 
Gibson; granddaughter, Anna Gibson; father, Herbert Thigpen and stepmother, 
Lucy; and mother, Mable Smith.

Survivors include her son, David Gibson and wife, Sharon of Rayville; 
grandchildren, Will Gibson of Rayville, Luke Gibson of Rayville, Lindsey 
Shepherd and husband, Kevin of Calhoun, and Jennifer Gibson of West Monroe; 
great granddaughter, Kynslee Shepherd of Calhoun; brother, Jerry Thigpen of 
Frisco, TX; sisters, Julia Pearson of Grand Prairie, TX, Denise Keating of 
Plano, TX, and Diane Slater of Hallsville, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Danny Gibson, Roger Gibson, Randy Joiner, David Castleman, 
Robert Gibson, and Will Gibson

Visitation is 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, 
Rayville.
