Ed Smith and Bro. Chuck Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Bobby Joe was born on November 29, 1943 in Columbia to the union of Alon Leon and Anna Belle Campbell Girod and passed from this life on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Bobby Joe retired as a school bus driver after 23 years with the Caldwell Parish School system. For 19 years he served as the Town Marshall for Clarks. He has worked as a deputy for Caldwell Parish Sheriff's office for the last 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers; Billy Ray Girod and James Leon Girod. Survivors include his wife of 43 years; Nell Patterson Girod, two sons; James Girod and wife, Heather of Columbia and Bryan Girod and wife, Kim of Holum, and six grandchildren; Justin Girod, Jessica Girod, Molly Girod, Traycer Girod, Breann Morgan and Abby Morgan. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ray Girod, Tommy Steele, David Williams, Mike Fatheree, Tommy Ellerbee and Steely Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's deputies.
