DORWAYNE JR. GLOVER Funeral Services for Dr. Dorwayne Glover, Jr., 81, of Monroe, LA will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA with Jeff Glover and Jacob Glover officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Dorwayne Glover, Jr., left the world behind on May 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorwayne Glover, Sr. and Dorothy Glover, and his sister, Devona Rodgers of Red River Parish, as well as his grandson, Michael Glover of Monroe. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Glover, three sons, Steve Glover and his wife, Nancy of Memphis, TN, Scott Glover and his wife, Sharon of Monroe, LA, and Jeff Glover and his wife, Kim of West Monroe, LA. He is also survived by three grandsons, Jeff Glover, Jacob Glover, and Grant Glover and three granddaughters, Michelle Glover, Bailey Glover and Avery Glover as well as two great grandsons, Fox Glover and Isaac Glover. Dorwayne is also survived by his brothers, Duane Glover and wife, Marilyn and Thomas Laing and wife, Barbara, as well as countless nephews, nieces, and cousins. Dorwayne attended Northwestern State University and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from LSU. He also received advanced degrees including a PhD in Entomology from Mississippi State University. His lifelong love was agriculture. As a young man, he raised livestock and competed in numerous local and statewide competitions through 4H and Future Farmers of America. As an entomologist, he moved to Monroe to work for the LSU Cooperative Extension Service primarily as a cotton consultant. He formed his own successful cotton consulting business, Glover Ag. Service, in 1979. In addition to cotton consulting, Dorwayne conducted research with new agri-chemicals for major chemical companies. He also enjoyed raising cattle. In addition to his love of family and agriculture, Dorwayne was a lifelong LSU and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
