RAY GOLEMON Visitation for Mr. B. Ray Golemon, age 76, of Monroe will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Hwy 165. Funeral services for Mr. Golemon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church in Monroe, with Reverend Charles Headrick and Reverend Warren Eckhardt officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Farmerville City Cemetery. Mr. Golemon was born in Rosedale, Louisiana, in 1938. He graduated from Lecompte High School and received his degree in pharmacy from Northeast Louisiana College. In 1965, Mr. Golemon and Mr. Van Lee established Farmerville Drug Company. In 1973, Mr. Golemon became a State Farm Insurance Agent in Monroe and he retired from State Farm in 2003. Mr. Golemon was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed meeting up with his State Farm buddies for lunch and he never met a stranger. He loved to hunt, fish, and tell stories. And he earned the title of "A Dog's Best Friend." Mr. Golemon passed away Thursday, July 17th. He was preceded in death by his father, William Wilson Golemon, his mother, Callie Kirkpatrick Golemon, and his sister, Ruth St. Romain. Mr. Golemon is survived by his wife, Martile C. Golemon, his son, Stan Golemon and his wife Glenda, and his daughter, Deborah Golemon. Survivors also include Mr. Golemon's grandchildren, Lathen and Traya Golemon, his sister, Judy Reynolds and her husband Pat, his uncle, Clarence Golemon, his sister-in-law, Lydia Headrick and her husband Charles, nieces, Tonda Sammons and Anna Claire Headrick, and nephews, Roy St. Romain, Jr., John St. Romain, Connor Headrick, and Cole Headrick. Pallbearers will be Connor Headrick, Cole Headrick, Bobby Knickerbocker, Walt Smith, Carey Anderson, and Tracy Douglas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Helmer, Bob Anderson, Dean Smith, Butch Kelly, Micheal Brower, Robert Cook, Skip Russell, and Tommy Culp.
