He is survived by his wife Eva Nell Hall Golson who was his life partner, and best friend, for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Golson Moore (Bill) and by his niece, Nancy Edmonson Vaughn (Ray). He is survived by his son, John Golson, Dauphin Island; and daughter,Carolyn Golson, Mobile; sister, Mary Alice Edmonson and niece, Kathy Edmonson Telano (Joey), all of West Monroe, Louisiana. He is also survived by one grandchild and one great grandchild. Bill graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1951 and served as an Engineer aboard the USS MISSOURI during the Korean War. He and his family moved to Mobile after traveling abroad with IBM and he retired after 31 years of service. Bill then enjoyed a second career as a charter boat captain out of Dauphin Island and as the head service technician with his dear friends at Gulf Coast Divers. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a passion for scuba diving which he traveled around the world with his wife and many diving friends to pursue. Funeral services were held at Christ United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. Family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Christ United Methodist Church Organ Fund. Pallbearers will be: Louis Carr, Robert Cox, Joseph Greer, Lawren McCaghren, Bill Moore and Clarence Oswell.
