Peggy is survived by her husband of 69 years, James; her twin sister Jean Mintz; her three sons, Robert, James Jr., and Clifford; her thirteen grandchildren Jolene, Phillip, Ashira, Hannah, Brittany, "Remi," Grant, Maxwell, Charlotte, Carly, Natasha, George, Abigail, and Erik; and her two great grandchildren Esther and Oren. She was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Rose Strauss. Peggy was born on Monroe, Louisiana to Clifford and Roslyn Strauss and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Louisiana as part of the class of 1955. She married James Greenbaum on January 29th, 1955. The two of them started a family in Monroe, where Peggy became involved in charity work with the Junior League of Monroe and the Jewish Federation. They moved to Palm Springs in 1976. In Palm Springs, Peggy showed her commitment to serving the community in the many roles she played over the years. She served as chairperson and board member of Guide Dogs of the Desert, and president and board member of the Women's Division of the Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert area. Additionally, Peggy held the esteemed title of Founders Fifty member of the McCallum Theatre and served as a founding board member. Peggy's warm heart and dedication to her community have left an enduring legacy. Friends will remember Peggy for her unique and infectious laugh. She will be remembered by her family as a master storyteller and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who laughed heartily, loved intensely, and lived fully. In lieu of flower, the family requests donations be made to the Jewish Federation of the Desert or a charity of your choice.
