SUE ANN HAMILTON GREER

A celebration honoring the life of Sue Ann Hamilton Greer will be held 2 PM 
Thursday,June 12, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in West Monroe with 
Reverend Jon Tellifero and Reverend Hank Hamilton officiating. Interment will be 
at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Sue was born on September 4, 1931 to Celia Henry Hamilton and Joseph Jackson 
Hamilton, Sr., a prominent Union Parish family. She was a graduate of Downsville 
High School and obtained a Specialist degree in education from Northeast 
Louisiana University (now ULM). Sue began her career as a first grade teacher. 
She dedicated herself to improving the lives of children through education. 
After 40 years of service and receiving numerous education awards, she retired 
as a supervisor for the Ouachita Parish School Board. One of her favorite 
activities as a supervisor was visiting 1st grade class rooms to read to the 
students. She often remarked what a wonderful joy it was to see a child's face 
light up as he or she learned to read.

Faith was an important part of her life as she was an active member of the First 
United Methodist Church in West Monroe and the Ed Stinson Sunday School Class. 
She was a hostess for hundreds of wedding showers through the years. Sue was a 
passionate reader and member of the Cultura Book Club.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 38 Years Charles 
Franklin Greer, and brother Joseph Jackson Hamilton, Jr. She is survived by her 
son Jack Nelson Beasley and wife Athena of Downsville, LA, daughter Rebecca Lane 
Greer and husband Mark Fishbine of Stillwater, OK, Jennifer Leigh Greer Pearson 
and husband Tom of Rocky Branch, LA, former daughter-in-law Dianne Beasley;and 
her beloved pet Cassie.

Grandchildren include Krystle Suzanne Beasley, JonHamilton Beasley and wife 
Kourtney, Britany Samantha Smith, Sierra Greer Smith and James Franklin 
Smith;step-grandchildren include Christopher Lampkin and Zoie Pearson;brother, 
Henry Meriweather Hamilton and wife Montene, Sister-in-law, Ann Hamilton and 
numerous great grandchildren,cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Steven Donald, Dr. Lance Donald,Dr. D.J. Donald, Steven 
Donald, James Franklin Smith, Tom Pearson and Fredrick Hamilton.

Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA
