Mary Katherine was born the daughter of Wharton M. and Lavena Lann of Ruston, Louisiana. Born and raised in Ruston, Louisiana, she was a graduate of Ruston High School and Louisiana Tech University. Upon graduation, she relocated to St. Joseph, Louisiana where she was a teacher at Davidson High School and Tensas Academy. Mary Katherine was music director of St. Joseph Baptist Church choir for over 50 years. She served her community in many capacities such as a member of the Cosmpolitan Club, Garden Club, St. Joseph Arts, Board member of Tensas Academy, board member of Louisiana Sportsman's Festival and Executive Director of the Miss Louisiana Sportsman's Festival Pageant. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law Bill and Elsie Gregory, and grandson, Colby Lann Gregory. She is survived by husband, Donald W. Gregory and children, Greg Gregory and wife Kerry, Tim Gregory and wife Necci, Darryl Gregory and wife Brenda, Laura Gregory Scriber and husband Mike, and Donna K. Gregory Thompson. She was also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Chad Gregory, Walker Gregory, David Newman, Charlie Savoie, son-in-law Mike Scriber and brother-in-law Roger D. Gregory. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 1:00pm until 2:00pm with services to begin at 2:00pm at St. Joseph Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Louisiana. Burial to follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Arts Council.
