He was brought into this world by his grandfather, J.L. Griggs, on December 11, 1926 in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Callie and Charles B. Griggs, both of West Monroe, Louisiana; and siblings, Mable Sims, Louise Hendricks, and Darrell Griggs. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife of 67 years, Marie Plunk Griggs of North Little Rock; his brothers, Buddy Griggs (Jean), Harold Ray Griggs (Janet) of West Monroe; his four children, Jim Griggs (Pill) of Fayetteville, Chuck Griggs (Mavis) of North Little Rock, Donna Taylor (Ashley) of Morrilton, and Leslie Griggs (Kim) of North Little Rock; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other family members. Julius was a veteran of World War II as well as an RCA bull rider. Julius had a 44-year career with Stone Container, being elected in 1990 as Arkansas Salesman of the Year. Julius was active in the Masonic Fraternity for 67 years. He was Past Master F&AM in two different states, Royal Order/Scotland, Scottish Rite and 33 degree Mason; as well as a 60-year member of Eastern Star. Julius was an active member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock since 1971. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Rd., North Little Rock. Graveside Service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3rd, at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens, West Monroe, Louisiana. Family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR (501-791-7400).
