GUICE Funeral Services for Clarence Guice, 73, of Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at North Monroe Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Dye and Reverend Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Acree Cemetery, at Point, Louisiana under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe. Mr. Guice was born November 14, 1938 in Point, Louisiana and passed away November 9, 2012. He was a retired VP and Co-Owner of Delta Gulf Corporation, a pipeline construction company based out of Shreveport, La. His success was due to his lack of intimidation from a challenge or hard work which was proved early in his career as he started at the lowest ranks and rose to the utmost level of the pipeline industry. Although his skills and talents led him all over the world, he never lost his way and always remembered where he came from and those he loved and left at home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mattie Irene Bagwell Guice; three daughters, Patti Eileen Butler and husband Ronnie, Katherine Doris Smith and husband William Randall, and Carol Joy Rhymes and husband Ray (Bubba); six grandchildren, Lara Monique Weathers, Leah Jansen Smith, Haley Brooke Smith, William Cody Smith, Raph Rhymes, and Ali Savannah Rhymes; one great grandchild, Jolee Katherine Ledoux; one sister Trudy Albrittton; three brothers, James B. Guice, Kenneth Guice, and Harold Guice; numerous nieces and nephews; and his devoted pets Tripp, Maria, Lucky and Drake. This kind, honest, generous, and caring man devoted his life to his family and church very unselfishly. The lives his unselfishness impacted were many and even some unknown. Anyone fortunate enough to make his acquaintance would surely remember him for his wit and contagious laugh that just made you feel comfortable and special. Clarence was a strong willed man, yet possessed a unique attribute of extreme tenderness and empathy for others. He lived his life without judgment or criticism of others and through his non-judgmental ways inspired you to be a better person and desire to be more like him. His passion later in life became his love for riding motorcycles with his men of God. He lived a happy fulfilled life without regret and his legacy will carry for generations to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Fermon Guice and Doris Guice; a brother Thomas Gray Guice; and grandmother, Mattie Roye. He had served on many Boards that included: ULM Board of Pharmacy, Shriners, Teamsters, Masons, and 406 Engineers, and has worked for Ford, Bacon, & Davis, Cap Con International, and after retirement established Guice Consulting, L.L.C. Pallbearers are Jimmy Pedigo, Joe Carter, Fred Franklin, Johnny Roan, Greg Manley, and Bill Bourn. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Paulus, John Allen, Wayne Fontenot, John Tannehill, Don Beach, and Don Hovator. Visitation will be Monday, November 12, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at North Monroe Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church.
