GUICE Celebration of Life for James B Guice, 72, of Downsville, LA, will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Downsville United Methodist Church in Downsville, LA. Interment will follow at the Downsville Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. He was born on March 28, 1943 and passed away on November 18, 2015. He was a long time faithful member of Downsville UMC. James B. was a US Army Veteran, a member of the Downsville Masonic Lodge, Monroe Scottish Rite and the Barak Shrine Temple. He was a 1961 graduate of Downsville High School and worked for 42 years at Ford, Bacon and Davis in Monroe, LA. Upon his retirement he often said "Everyday is Saturday". Poppa B. was the best husband, daddy and granddaddy ever. The void he leaves in his family and community is beyond measure. There is so much more to say, but as "B" would have said had he written this "If you knew him, you know and if you didn't, you don't need to". There was never a dull moment when he was around and he made everything fun! If he met you, you were his friend, and he would do anything for you but he loved his family the most. He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Doris Guice, brothers Clarence and Thomas and his in-laws who he loved so much, Durwood and Judy McFarland. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Carolyn McFarland Guice; daughters and his son-in-laws, Debbie Holmes and husband Jordan of Ruston and Elizabeth Miller and husband Josh of Bossier City; his grandsons, Pop's Boys - Walker Holmes and Davis Holmes and his granddaughter, Pop's Girl - Abby Miller; sister and brothers, Trudy Albritton, Kenny Guice and Harold Guice; brother and sister-in-laws Johnny and Charlotte McFarland and Julia and Tony Savana . Also numerous, nieces, nephews and so many friends he loved dearly. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Donations in his memory can be made to the Downsville UMC, Barak Shriners, or Kairos of Louisiana.
