GWIN Funeral services for Jesse Caleb Gwin, Jr., 80, of Archibald, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Cedar Baptist Church, Archibald, LA with Bro. Keith Stephens, Bro. John Albright, and Bro. Mickey Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville. Jesse was born August 6, 1936 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Archibald, LA. He was a former employee of A. Lee Booth Construction, Mon-Ray Concrete of Rayville. After a short stent with Richland Contractors he started at LA Industries in 1975, Monroe, LA. Jesse was a Sales Rep for LA Industries for over 30 years and was well known and respected in the construction industry. He was a former active member of Northeast LA Homebuilders Assoc. Also was chairman of Archibald Community Beautification Board and President of Archibald Community Cemetery Board. Jesse was an avid fisherman. He spent many years on Lake Yucatan, Lake Bruin, and Woolen Lake catching white perch and bream with his family and best fishing buddies. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Caleb Gwin, Sr. and Ruby Lambert Gwin; his sisters, Faye Gwin Johnson and Lula Gwin Lilly; great grandchild, Jonas Reed; and lifelong friend, Mr. Otis Bowman. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Talbott Gwin; son, Terry Lee Gwin and wife, Rheba of Archibald; daughter, Sharon Gwin Jordan of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Joshua Gwin and wife, Virginia of Archibald, Rebecca Gwin Morris and husband, Shea of Archibald, Jessica Jordan Reed and husband, Nick of St. Louis, and Noah Jordan of Archibald; great grandchildren, Lauren Gwin and Claire Gwin of Archibald, Silas Reed of St. Louis; and his sidekicks, Chi-Chi, Abby, and Gracie. Pallbearers are Bob Archibald, Jim Archibald, Gary Lilly, Tim Jones, Charles McDonald, Joshua Gwin, Noah Jordan, and Shea Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Richland Parish Sheriff's Office and the former employees of A. Lee Booth Construction and James "Imp" Hendrix, Lee Booth, Jr., Steve Archibald, and Alfred Hardman.
