He was 57 years old. David was one of four sons born to Charles E. and Rosemary Vangold Haftmann. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, David lived in Alexandria, Louisiana until becoming a student at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. After graduating with a degree in horticulture, David married Barbara Seymour. To this union two daughters, Kristin Michelle and Casey Nicole, were born. His mother and brother, Charles, preceded David in death. He will be forever loved and remembered by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara Haftmann, daughters Kristin Michelle Badger (Sam, III) of Monroe, LA; Casey Coultis (Matthew) of Kansas City, MO; Sammy Badger IV, beloved grandson, father Charles E. Haftmann (Lucetta) of Deville, LA; brothers Thomas Haftmann (Sherri) of Lake Charles, LA; Mick Haftmann of Pineville, LA; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends. David was always helping others, and had a passion for landscaping, remodeling and classic cars. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. David had been employed by Brookshire's for nineteen years. Viewing will be held Monday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, January 2, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA. Friends and family are invited to funeral services, to be held Tuesday, 10:00 AM, January 3, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, officiated by Fr. Job Edathinatt. Pallbearers will be Gary Tyler, Allen Worster, Dan Rereira, Huey Davenport, Luther Black, and Sal Mora. David will be interred at Mulhearn's Memorial Park Cemetery, 623 Hwy 80 East, Monroe, LA.
