Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Spearsville Cemetery in Spearsville, LA. Babs Lee Hagar was born February 10, 1932 in Spearsville, LA to the union of Esley David Lee and Maxine Barron Lee and passed away March 20, 2016 in Monroe, LA. She graduated from Spearsville High School and Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. Babs started her coaching career in Monroe, LA and she taught P.E. and was the girls' basketball coach at Neville High School. She started the 1956-57 school year and retired from Neville. She also coached volleyball at Neville in the early 1970's. Babs was loved and respected by her students and was said to be strict but fair and had genuine concern for her students' progress and well-being not only in sports but in life, according to testimonies of her former students. Babs and Terry faithfully attended her church, New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Spearsville as long as they were able. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle Terry Hagar; and twin brother, Billy Lee. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jean Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends whose lives she touched and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Demetri Reynolds, Charlotte Coleman, Amy Knox, Adrienne Watson, Hannah King, Benny Thomas, Nathan Free, Jr. and Nate Free, III. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA. Special thanks to Becky Hayden, Amy Knox, Demetri Reynolds, Charlotte Coleman, Adrienne Watson and Hannah King for the love they showed Babs during her last years when she needed them most. Memorials may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
