Clif is predeceased by his parents Clifton Hall, Sr. and Minnie Lee Holdiness Hall and brothers Billy(Blackie) Hall and Donnie Hall. Also, predeceasing him was "Grandma," Ida Mae Holdiness, for whom he had a special love and profound respect as she was mother and grandmother after her daughter's untimely death. Clif was loved and admired by all who knew him. He had his priorities in the correct order: God, family, country. His love for our Lord was manifested in his pure character; he was honorable, warm-hearted, easy-going, and brave. Serving by singing in the choir and going to mission trips to south Louisiana, he was a faithful member of the Paron Baptist Church in Sterlington. He was a past Potentate of the Barak Shrine Temple in Monroe. He and his wife Jean spent many hours preparing for and working at the Barak Shrine Circus each year. They were also involved in transporting children to Shriners' Hospitals in various parts of the country. Service to his country did not end with his homecoming after the Korean Conflict. He served as the State Commander of the Louisiana Purple Heart Association and was the Commander of the Northeast Louisiana Military Order of the Purple Heart-Chapter 331. Until recently, he made annual trips to Wisconsin to a reunion with other brave men in his platoon. This past year, he was one of a number of veterans awarded an all expense paid trip to Washington, DC, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He retired from IMC, where he was a pipefitter, after working for 40 years. Clif and his wife Jean enjoyed many happy years together, not only involved in church and civic activities, but also traveling to a number of states in our country. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage October 28, 2016. Clif comes from a generation where a man's word was his bond. Our world would certainly be a better place if we all would adhere to his philosophy. His family and friends have been truly blessed by having Clif as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Pallbearers are grandsons Logan Hollis, Payton Hollis, Hollis Kelley, and friends Buddy Foster, Richard Moore, and Marvin Simpson. Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, at Mulhearn Funeral Home on 2308 Sterlington Road in Monroe at 3 PM. Visitation is Friday, July 15, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
