PAUL THOMAS HAMMOND

Services for Mr. Paul Thomas Hammond, Sr. will be held at 2:00 P.M. on 
Monday, October 10, 2016 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West 
Monroe. Pastor Tony Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at McCormick 
Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Hammond was born November 1, 1931 in Calhoun, LA and passed away on 
October 7, 2016 in West Monroe. He retired from Ellington Construction 
Company after 56 years of service. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and 
a Past Master of URIM Masonic Lodge #111. As a member of the U. S. Army 
during the Korean War, he served as a paratrooper with the 187th Airborne 
RCT and was awarded a Silver Star and 2 Bronze Stars for bravery. Preceded 
in death by his parents, Harvey Thomas Hammond and Audrey Lee Steed Hammond; 
sister, Sybil Brown and brother, Ralph Hammond, Sr.

Mr. Hammond is survived by his children, Dianne Rosier and husband William, 
Paula McCown and husband David, and Paul Thomas Hammond, Jr.; siblings, 
Harvey L. Hammond, Sr. and Gloria H. Rentz; grandchildren, Matt Hammond, 
Nicole Hammond and Erin McCown Simpson and husband Wesley; great-grandson, 
Braden Hammond.

Masonic brothers will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be W. 
J. Mims, Charles Staples, Harold Traylor, Greg Hare, Pat Ellington, and 
Randy Walton .

The family wishes to thank all who loved and cared for Mr. Paul.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children , 3100 Samford Ave, 
Shreveport, LA 71103.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 9, 2016 
at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
