DANIEL MILUS HARKNESS

Daniel Milus Harkness, Sr., born August 30, 1948 in Baton Rouge, LA, passed 
away November 13, 2015, in Austin, TX, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He 
was preceded in death by his Mother, Enid Slaughter Harkness, and Father, 
Laurie Milus Harkness.

Dan is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Trudie Hollis Harkness, 
daughter, Laura Elizabeth Harkness son, Daniel Milus Harkness, Jr., his wife, 
Catherine, , and stepdaughter, Sandy McMillan. Grandchildren, Campbell McKay, 
Holland Grace, Daniel Oliver and Asa Milus. Dan was dear to his only brother, 
Robert Douglas Harkness, Sr., and his wife, Debra, mother-in-law, Elizabeth 
Hollis, sisters-in-law Rebecca Purdy and Susan McGough, and brother-in-law, 
Howard Scott Hollis He had two nieces and three nephews, and countless friends 
and family in Round Rock, TX and West Monroe, LA, who loved and respected him.

Dan grew up in West Monroe, LA, and was raised attending First Baptist Church 
of West Monroe. He graduated from West Monroe High School in 1966, proudly 
served in the United States Air Force, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He and his 
family moved to Round Rock, TX in 1990, but, always proudly called West Monroe 
home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in 
St Patrick's Episcopal Church, 1712 Wellerman Rd., West Monroe, La.

Graveside Services will be on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at Hasley 
Cemetery Pavilion, West Monroe, La.
